...overused, but that is my feeling about the medical profession in general... You are into this nightmare far enough now to begin to recognize that a broken leg has a lot of the mental levels present in grief recovery... disbelief, denial, anger, and depression... and somewhere along the way, acceptance. I do hope you have a strong support group which understands the massive stress this has brought into your life. Talk is cheap and all those words about hang in there are a little shallow without a good dish for dinner and someone to do a bit of housekeeping etc. etc. Tell the close friends what you really need... don't be shy... justify your reequests by a promise to pay it forward... now that you know how really big that pain can be... how desperate you feel at times... and whatever your unique trial has brought you... you will be qualified to reach out to someone along the time line who has gotten into the same kind of trouble. This is taking a serious chunk out of your life and lifestyle. Make some plans about what you are going to do when you are back in your right world. Best Wishes!!!
