I'm glad you talked about the outrageous costs of a broken leg. I've been searching the site for like comments. So far, my tib/fib/talus break has cost $30,000. The insurance covered most of it so far, but some of the co-pays are a serious bite. Did the dirty deed while walking the dog on 7/78/04.

I got my first new bill for follow-up care today from my OS. I've had six casts, one per week. Each cast costs $75 for "materials" and $300 to put it on. What!? It takes him all of 5 minutes.

What do people do if they don't have insurance? Do people lost their jobs if their employers aren't understanding? I'd appreciate hearing from you or anyone else about the health insurance issue or lack of insurance.
