As far as leg exercise is concerned, I did alot of bike and eliptical, gradually raising resistance until I felt comfortable with running. I also did some stretching. In addition, when I started feeling strong enough, I started doing squats, lunges, leg press, leg curls, leg extensions and calf raises. However, you should only do these exercises if your OS permits and in consultation with your PT.
