Yes Chris, it is important to keep your Walking Cast on during the day. Especially if you have had surgery doing the following is of utmost importance, E = Elevation: Keep your let elevated when you can. Rest it on a cushion when you are sitting down on the couch or lying down in your bed. Keeping the blood flowing away from the injury is best. C = Cold Wrap. It is also advisable to do cold compression wraps a few times a day especially when your ankle is swollen. Your injured ankle doesn't receive enough blood flow when at rest. To properly heal, you need to reduce the swelling and stimulate blood flow so your ankle gets nutrition and oxygen. Inflammation around the area can create extreme pain and reduced mobility. And finally C= Compression. You do need to wear your air cast walker as your leg needs to be compressed and set in a cast so that the bones will heal and also to protect the leg from any further injury or damage you may cause when you are walking on one leg. Clear enough?
