When you mentioned about things slowing down during the crash, that totally resonated with me. I was a passenger on the back of my husband's bike when someone 2 cars in front of us stopped short to make a left. There was some gravelly dirt on the road...my husband did his best to stop the bike, but we hit the truck in front of us and I flew over his head 40 feet away, bounced face first and landed flat on my back. I remember thinking (while flying through the air) oh my god i'm flying off the bike, we crashed, when will i land, how hurt will i be? At one point I opened my eyes and to this day I can still see what I saw then. Then, when everything became still and eerily quiet, taking inventory of my body parts. Can I feel my legs or my arms. Where was my husband? Then I went into some kind of convulsion due to bruising my spinal cord and shock. I got a helicopter ride to the trauma center. I never really rode again. My husband did. I got on the back once and rode down my block to my neighbors house. That was more than enough. It's not worth it in my opinion. I'm sorry about your leg. Ironically, I didn't even break a nail in that crash (more internal stuff)but broke my leg during a bbq in my backyard. It still haunts me though. Something I will never forget as I'm sure you won't either. This website is a lifesaver. The people are absolutely wonderful.. I hope that you heal quickly and make a full recovery. Best wishes to you! Jen
