Eric_L : Spiral tib/fib fracture after thrown from PWC
Diary entry posted Sat 8:17am 18 April 2020

At my 1 year anniversary, I scheduled a visit with OS for fresh x-rays as I had persistent internal bruising and it felt like a couple of screws may have shifted down by my ankle. We reviewed the photos and compared them to post-op xrays and surprisingly there was no hardware movement at all. Besides tibia bone growth showed significant sculpting, calcification, and remodeling. Since that visit in Septemer 2019 gave me further confidence, I have continued to resume all activities except alpine skiing, still too afraid to do that. I routinely ride my H-D motorcycle and get out in the fields hunting, etc. Since the start of 2020, I have been walking a lot, putting on 600 miles in less than 4 months! I still get some knee pain, strange twitches and other odd sensations, but power through them on my long walks. It's a new normal, probably 99% the same as before my accident. While I think about my leg differently now, it's infrequent. Keep up your spirits, you will have a full recovery. Stay healthy during this period of COVID-19 pandemic and best of luck.
