Eric_L : Spiral tib/fib fracture after thrown from PWC
Diary entry posted Sun 6:15pm 13 January 2019

At this point home recovering was my low point psychologically, time was crawling so slowly, the world was moving ahead without me, and I missed a number of personal and professional events that I had been looking forward to including my nephew's out of state Eagle Scout ceremony which was long planned. I also missed the freedom of riding my motorcyle, and the prospect of missing alpine ski season and really questioned if I would ever participate in these activities again. My days focused on planning my movements with the walker, which I grew to hate with a passion as it was aggravating my shoulders. My recliner became my sanctuary and it was accessorized with every gadget, drink, snack, etc. all within easy reach. Fortunately my boss was very accommodating, he preferred even getting partial work from me vs. none if I went out on disability, so I was fortunate to get a full paycheck throughout my recovery. I continued my work from home and was determined to attend my my best friend daughter's wedding in about 6 weeks. I tried to use my borrowed knee scooter but the pressure on my knee incision was way too much even with an add-on foam pad with sheepskin fur covering, it would have to wait. By the end of September about 4 weeks after my accident, my outlook began to improve as my recovery progressed positively and I adjusted to my reality.
