Hardware: Ankle Screw Removal - the details
There was an excellent account of removal of a syndesmosis screw posted in March 2001.

Thanks for the information about the pros and cons of different anaesthetic options prior to ankle screw removel. I'm looking forward to AR the day after tomorrow. Basing my decision on what I've read here, and what I've discussed with the charge nurse on duty on the day, I'm hoping to pursuade the anaesthetist to let me have either the spinal injection or a local anaesthetic in the area plus something to dull the pain of the necessary tourniquet. Anyone want to pursuade me which of the two options would be better ?
