Hi there!

I am so sorry to hear of your loose screw (no pun intended!). That's got to be really frustrating. I have had a fear of that happening ever since my surgery. Can you feel that thing moving around? When you get that one screw taken out, are you going to have the rest taken out? As for the pain directly above the ankle bone, I have had that too. It was SO painful it felt like someone cutting me every time there was any pressure with movement. I will say that gradually over time, it is becoming less sensitive. My therapist and OS told me to try and rub it and desensitive it as much as I could stand. Maybe that is slowly helping? I really know that desire to do those "normal" things again, and really have to "control" myself. I am working diligently on all my exercises and my PT sessions. I have regained 1/2 inch in my calf muscle, and I had my PT measure my toe point, and I am within about 5-6 degrees of being comparable to the good foot. I know that feeling of not quite trusting the bad foot, and I'm really hoping that goes away with time as well. These breaks really force us to learn more and more patience, huh?! All the best, keep working on your toe point and balance, it will come! Annie
