The bad news: This morning my OS chose not to go with the Darth - put on another toes-to-knee hard cast (was really looking forward to showers and skin care!)
The good news: He told me to go PWB... working toward FWB and the Darth in maybe three weeks.
Been in a hard cast for the last two months, but with very, very little pain or swelling because of the NWB. That's changed already!... only been partial for about 4 hours now (still with the crutches) and I can feel the old familiar pain and swelling returning already.
First time around (pre-cast) I treated that will elevation, cold gel packs and antiinflammatories like Alieve.
Can still elevate, can't do the chill-packs with the hard cast, and have heard the Alieve stunts bone growth (overuse may have contributed to my non-union to begin with?), so...
... what else can I do to help with what I know I'm in for.
