I have no idea if it would be faster or not. You are younger so that may play into it. I'm wondering myself if I had surgery right away maybe I wouldn't have needed the pin and screws? I went home with a kind of half-cast and I could feel the bones moving around (gross feeling). When I went back in to the hospital due to intense pain they made me wait a couple of days for surgery but in a hospital bed where I had minimal movement. I think recovery is faster with pin/screws but it's also more invasive and there may be complications with the hardware down the road. It is what it is at this point but I was not really given a choice anyway. I had to just trust that I was given the best care according to my injury but hospital resources probably had an effect.
