Is the numbness new? Are the toes turning a funny colour (purple, blue)? If either is true you sound get checked out asap to be sure there isn't a circulation issue.
Otherwise, weird numbness isn't necessarily abnormal. Where did the break occur? Was your foot involved? One of my breaks was at the ankle and my whole lower leg/foot bent sideways (very unnaturally, ugh!), and that caused a lot of tissue and nerve damage, including in my foot. The top and bottom of my foot near my toes was numb for months afterwards. It was ages before I could rise up on my tiptoes because I couldn't feel that part of my foot. It did eventually come back though. Damaged nerves take a long time to heal.
