PT will definitely help you with bending. When I began PT I couldn't bend my knee well nor straighten it. In the meantime you can YouTube search for some light exercises you can do at home before you start PT. If you have a stationary bike you can sit on it and move the pedal forward and then back as much as you can, to begin the stretching. Ice afterwards for sure, along with Motrin or Ibuprofen.
