Hi Sarah, sympathies for this. What you're feeling is normal, yes. Your system has had a huge shock and is presently putting a lot of energy into healing. That plus pain will be making it harder to think. Paracetamol should not negatively affect your ability to think etc., but things like pain, even if it's an ache rather than severe pain, and not sleeping well, will do.
The good news is that three weeks post-op is generally when pain starts reducing and you start getting a bit more energy, so with luck you should soon begin to feel a bit better.
Remember to keep the leg elevated as much of the time as possible when you're not actually walking/crutching.

ORIF plate 18 June. Cast problems (allodynia) so boot from 25th but NWB.
25 July start PWB in boot, 7 Aug PWB without boot. 14th Aug few steps FWB.
9 Sept 10-steps jog 25 Sept: PT says go run!
