Re: Today I regained some of my agency...
Pauline M Hall    12:48am Mar 12 2017

Apologies for delay in replying. I was told by my OS to ditch the boot even though his underling had previously told me to wear it for longer!! OS first comment when I went through the door was "What are you still wearing that thing for?!!"
Always check with the organ grinder not the monkey!
Yes walking in that great boot is very awkward. Yet, interestingly, I felt very vulnerable when I first tottered without it. I used a stick for some months after losing the boot and only really jettisoned it about 5 months ago and I broke my leg in Jan 2015!
Go at the pace you feel comfortable with and always ask your consultant before embarking on a different regime. Good luck!

20 weeks with broken tib /fib! Slow healing. Casts (5)
Week 26 Tibia healed 50% aircast
Week 33 Tibia 95% healed so boot outdoors and cane no boot indoors
Wk 36 Start PT
Week 39 Ditch boot.
Wk 43 Driving and normal trainers
Wk 46 Discharged
