Thanks everyone for support. I've taken your advice and slowed down. Feeling a lot better.
Have a question...my surgeon wanted me to have all pt out of the home and said I could drive to my appointment. To do this, I would have to go down four stairs with a twist to get out of house, go down driveway, open garage door and get to car. Then, after driving to PT facility, park car and then use crutches to get inside of facility. While I'm getting around fine in the house, I am by no means comfortable with doing all of that alone. I opted to do home care so that I could have OT help me get use to showering alone and build up strength with PT. Next week I start PT at facility and am scheduling appts so my husband can take me when he gets home from work. Did anyone else start driving this soon? Just going out on crutches right now is so scary, I can't imagine doing it alone! Am I being a wimp? My home PT person made me practice going down stairs and getting in car. She said she had to do this before they could release me from home care. Would love to hear what others have done in this situation...thanks!
