It's been three years since I broke my tibia/fibula and I still have daily pain. I still have all of my hardware. Actually, it's more of a stiffness than pain. But it is painful and it does bother me daily. I'm overweight and I think that's why. I'm trying to swim everyday, but that makes the pain worse because it makes the calf muscles even tighter. It's so frustrating. Heel lifts help tremendously. Try doing 15 reps of heel lifts (4) times a day. Don B wrote:
