 Re: questions about PWB

I started PWB seven weeks after surgery and was PWB for four weeks. It was absolutely terrifying. I just did it very, very slowly and tried not to put too much weight on it. I only took about ten steps across my living room the first day, and surprisingly it didn't even hurt. The next day I walked all around the house. and on the third day I went to Wal-Mart. I was so happy to be walking! A lady at Wal-Mart said she had never seen anyone on crutches to be so happy.

I didn't have much pain at all when I was PWB. But I did when I was back to full-weight bearing. Think of it this way, your bones are healed. The pain you are feeling is from the tendons and ligaments surrounding the bone. They are really, really stiff from non-use.

Are you gong to have any physical therapy?
