If it's not bone then it's soft tissue. Ligaments and tendons can take ages, unfortunately. Inner ankle could be ligaments or posterior tibial tendon (I tore mine a few years ago). That's the one that runs around the back of your ankle bone and is important for the arch of the foot. Can you do a single-leg heel raise on that foot (i.e. lift the heel off the ground?) Several times? Does it hurt when you do that? If so, it could be PTT.

ORIF plate 18 June. Cast problems (allodynia) so boot from 25th but NWB.
25 July start PWB in boot, 7 Aug PWB without boot. 14th Aug few steps FWB.
9 Sept 10-steps jog 25 Sept: PT says go run!
