 2 Year Update
Brett Mc Williams (195.81.168.---)   7:50am Jul 13 2017

Hi All,

i broke my femur in 3 places 2 years ago this month. I was a young rugby player when i was hit by a jet ski in the sea on holiday. While in the water i had an open wound where i lost 8 pints of blood and nearly kicked the bucket before my urgent 8 hour surgery took place in Cancun. I had a large pin and screws fixed to my break and was not able to walk for nearly 6 months. It took me 15 months to run without a limp.

I returned to light rugby training in February 2017. 5 months on with the help of physio, weights and fitness work i am now 3 weeks into pre-season training and fully expected to making my return game at the start of August. My surgeon decided to keep my pin in until i decide to retire from the game and is feeling fine so far and can feel myself getting stronger every week.

This forum helped a lot with questions/venting about the injury and thought i would post an update to all the newly injured on here to show that there is a light at the end of the tunnel (could have shot myself on several occasions over these 2 years) and to keep working hard on your recovery and it will all come together eventually.
