Congratulations Elaine! I understand the joy of being able to do normal things again. Mine was when (after 12 weeks) I was able to get by with one crutch and carry a hot drink (I was so happy I posted it on facebook!).

I have a question for you. I have been told I can go swimming or cycle. However, I am scared of going swimming due to the risk of slipping and climbing in and out of the pool. May I ask how you handled these things? Is it just a fear I nead to recover from?

I would appreciate any advice.

7 April - car accident broken talus, aka RAF injury. Surgery same day - ORIF.
17 May - cast replaced with boot and PWB (joy!)
28 June - told I could wear a shoe, swim, cylce and even start driving
24 July - drove for the first time
Op planned for Aug sometime to remove the front plate for greater ROM
