Welcome to the forum. I can completely empathise with your feelings of depression and hopelessness. I too believed I would never walk again but I CAN NOW WALK PRETTY MUCH as I did before my fracture. It took me time and a lot of physio but please believe you will get there. The days do seem to stretch endlessly, particularly if your life was defined by physical activity as mine (and yours) are. But please cling on to the fact that you will get your life back and try to focus on what you aim to achieve when that happens. My joys prior to my break were riding and working with my border collie, so I watched as many show jumping DVDs and horse related stuff and sheepdog trials stuff as I could lay my hands on both for the pleasure and to inspire me to work harder once I could!
Do call here often. You will be assured of a sympathetic ear.
