Woo Hoo! So glad you were able to go for your first ride! My Aunt was told 6 months before she was ‘allowed’ to ride her horse when she had a small fracture in her ankle last year.
As for flexibility, I still have some limitations in range of motion, that make going down stairs a little awkward, and I can only half kneel (with my toes tucked under and not worth the top of my foot against the floor). I am taking a yoga class on Saturdays, and I just modify the activity to something I can manage. For me the loss of flexibility affected my flutter kick when swimming. For most of last year I swam arms only front crawl, but this summer I really worked at rebuilding my endurance and completed my first 1k in under 30min last week. Not fast by most standards, but a big improvement for me.
Keep up the good work and soon you’ll be back to cantering across the fields!
