So sorry to hear about your injury. (I had to google netball, however, as it's not a sport I'm familiar with!). I fell and broke my tib/fib in mid-July and had ORIF surgery several days later. I too was dreading the removal of the stitches. It was uncomfortable with little sharp pains as each stitch as removed but compared to what you've already been through, what with the fractures and surgery, it's nothing! I had my backslab cast removed at 4 weeks and replaced with a boot NWB so I never had a plaster cast. The benefit of the boot is that it can be removed for bathing. I too had to cancel my family's summer holiday so I understand the frustration of missing an anticipated trip.
