Wishing you the best for your surgery I know you'll do great and then it will be onwards and upwards with recovery!
I've had many surgeries, just not for a broken bone, and the feeling afterwards will be relief that it's done.
For appetite, I'm sure it's nerves but also we just don't need as much calories as we were used to getting. When I was in my cast for 10 weeks (just out 4 weeks ago) I ate the paleo diet, so fish/chicken, fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. It's pretty much all you need when you're lying around.

Sept 7 - 10 wks - first steps no boot
