Carolyn, those stretches sound about right - I got permission to do some of those once I had my boot (which I only got after promising faithfully not to try walking in it). Three times a day sounds good. And it WILL help avoid the worst of the ankle stiffness due to immobilisation.
As for the calf looking scrawny, I cried when I saw mine when it had been in the cast for a couple of weeks. It was so well muscled (from long-distance running) before and had already wasted away. It did recover once I was able to start running again. :-)

ORIF plate 18 June. Cast problems (allodynia) so boot from 25th but NWB.
25 July start PWB in boot, 7 Aug PWB without boot. 14th Aug few steps FWB.
9 Sept 10-steps jog 25 Sept: PT says go run!
