Back in March I had broken my tib/fib and had a rod placed in my tibia. They inserted the nail from a couple of inches above my knee. My recovery has been ok but in September I began having knee problems. My knee became very swollen and I was unable to bend or straighten it. They did aspirated it and I was told by my doctor to give it some time to see how I do. Well it has happened at least 3 more times and it seems to happen if I even walk just 3 blocks , nothing crazy. I just had an MRI and they said it was joint effusion which is basically water on the knee. I am not sure what the treatment is as I have only spoken to the Doctor's assistant as he is away till next week.
Has anyone else had knee problems as a result of the nail insertion? My life has become way to sedate and uncomfortable.
