 Re: Walking Boot on Ice???
dcb    9:49am Oct 29 2017

I took 10-14 days to go from NWB to FWB in the boot, once allowed to do so - six weeks post-op and a further 7-10 days not in the boot to go PWB to FWB.

It's safest not to rush things - if you try to bear too much weight too soon and re-injure the leg you'll take a lot longer than if you take an extra week or two to get crutch-free.

Can you get cheap ice grippers that will fit over the boot? Or a very large woolly sock over the whole thing might help.

You definitely don't want to be rushing into walking if it's icy and there's a real risk of your slipping and rebreaking...

ORIF plate 18 June. Cast problems (allodynia) so boot from 25th but NWB.
25 July start PWB in boot, 7 Aug PWB without boot. 14th Aug few steps FWB.
9 Sept 10-steps jog 25 Sept: PT says go run!
