I haven't been around in a while, but a little over two years ago I had a very similar break and fix as you. Now that your leg is all fixed up your pain will diminish as long as you keep it elevated as much as you possibly can. The 12 weeks NWB is a real drag, but important to let those ligaments heal. It's a long road for sure - but listen to the docs and your pt and you'll get there. Today I am 99% recovered and again do all the things I enjoy. You will too! 4/2/15 Right ankle trimalleolar fracture with syndesmosis, severe sprain of left ankle
4/3/15 ORIF 2 plates 12 screws (including two syndesmosis screws).
6/25/15 Syndesmosis screws removed, WBAT
6/29/15 Started PT
9/17/15 First unaided steps!
