I am very sorry for what happened. I had a similar fracture a year ago.
Since you are 2 months after surgery there is nothing to worry about just yet. I am afraid tibial shaft fractures take time to heal. In my case there were visible signs of healing on x-ray after 3 months. Removing bolts is a common practice to accelerate healing.
When it comes to knees, I don't know which technique was used to place the nail, but the surgical site is usually at the bottom of the kneecap. It also takes time to heal. You also have to remember that after fracture you don't use your legs as your used to (cruches, more weight on your healthy leg) and there might be some changes in gait and biomechanics of you lower body.
You should talk to good physiotherpist to start rehab.
