Debra, sympathies. The nausea could be the pain medication - I was lucky and didn't need any after 2-3 weeks.
As for the depression: feeling depressed is NORMAL in this situation. The situation sucks. However, it DOES get better. Once you start physical therapy it gives you the chance to actually do something to improve your progress back towards walking, which is so much better than the initial stages when really all you can do is rest and wait.
I was lucky as I was able to work from home, which gave me something to concentrate on, but I still went through bad patches. I found getting outside into green surroundings helped, when that was possible.
You can progress from non-weight-bearing (NWB) to FWB (fully weight bearing) in about three weeks (possibly less) once you get to that stage - you WILL be walking again.
Good luck -hang in there!

ORIF plate 18 June. Cast problems (allodynia) so boot from 25th but NWB.
25 July start PWB in boot, 7 Aug PWB without boot. 14th Aug few steps FWB.
9 Sept 10-steps jog 25 Sept: PT says go run!
