Michelle, I’m on my 4th week of recovery from a tib/fib fracture and can totally relate. I’m an athlete, and running is a way for me to combat my depression, so being immobile is so, so hard for me right now. My life has completely changed and it feels overwhelming on a good day and absolutely impossible on a bad one.
Losing your independence is such a difficult thing, and having a partner who doesn’t understand makes you feel even more isolated. I’m wondering if you can suggest that he take a look at this site? Maybe if he reads about other people with similar experiences it will help him realize how difficult things are for you.
Hang in there. It will get better, at least that’s what I keep telling myself.
xo Amy
