So, I broke my tib/fib in half in Bethlehem on a mission trip 7 months ago while playing soccer. Was a closed spiral mid shaft fracture & had surgery in Jerusalem for IM nail. My doctor removed two screws December 19th. Took away some of the odd sensation.
My question is, will the knee and ankle ever feel completely normal? I have my doubts. The right side of my knee lost a lot of feeling, and it’s coming back a little bit, but tingles like it’s asleep when something brushes against it. Other than that the knee honestly feels like a foreign body since they had to cut through some nerves during the first surgery. It’s a tight feeling. The ankle feels tight and odd too. Almost like an overexertion. The leg feels great. It’s felt fine for months now, which is crazy bc that’s where the break site is. Whole leg is just super skinny. Went to physical therapy way after what was suggested. The first and second surgeries were amazingly successful. Everything is healed, but it isn’t doesn’t feel normal. I understand that can take years.
Is there anyone on here who has had this surgery and is past 7 months? What are your experiences? Anyone ever had their leg area go completely back to normal? God bless.
