As we know elevation is the key for relieving swelling & throbbing pain. I was using my pillow mountain in bed when I remembered how cool it was in hospital when the nurse would elevate the foot end of my bed to give me added relief and a rest from the bone foam (spent a week in hospital waiting for swelling to reduce enough for surgery).
Long story short I mentioned this to my dad, and half an hour later he had rigged me up a platform that did the same thing. Just used a block of wood nailed to a plank, with a flat board on top, & stuck it under the mattress at the angle I needed.
It is so much better sleeping now without my leg up on pillows, so I'd recommend this to anyone else who has to sleep with an elevated leg.
I've really been struggling trying to sleep with a cast & now a moon boot on, but this does make it a bit easier,
