I found some knee high socks that are thin, cotton, tight but not too tight and I'm finally happy. Its so funny what can drive you insane. Never thought I'd get so annoyed over socks.
Now I'm just looking forward to wearing a pair of shoes again instead of just one...
I'd get your cast checked. I had my plaster Paris one bivalved 4 days after the injury, so they could check if the swelling had gone down enough for surgery. Those following four days in a cut wobbly strapped cast, with an unset ankle were agony - and the cast played a huge part.
Ask for a fibre glass if they will let you,
