Re: IM Nail screws knee pain

Hey Joe. Iím 8 weeks out with an IM rod for a spiral triple fracture of the tibia. I think I know the feeling your talking about, when I first started moving it for range, right above the tibia and below the knee (the insertion site) was sore. But the soft tissue was in pain as a result of the scar tissue and build up. After doing 2 weeks of leg curls from week 6, the pain has gone (I found doing them on my stomach, though aggressive, helped. Went to physio to begin single crutch walking today and was nervous about that area. No pain. PT even asked if there was, and she replied that the curls probably helped (and it helps the hams for down the line strength progress. Good luck!
