 jogging and pilon fractures
chris mccabe (172.58.232.---)   5:01pm Dec 13 2018

Hi all - Pilon fracture Feb 2014, internal fixation with titanium plates and screens holding everything together. The Tibia was a mostly clean break but the Fibula was shattered. Anyway, it's been 4 years and haven't had really any issues. My doctor, who I just visited a couple months ago, took xrays and said everything looks good. I asked if I could start doing some light running and he said "why not?". I have done about 3 light jogs on the treadmill since then, at about 4.x speed and haven't had many issues except some soreness the next day or stiffness, occasional tingling or low grade numbness. Is this normal? Is it risky to do this at this point, 4 years later? My internal hardware is permanent.
