Re: Finally found a timely distraction
Robert Zambenini (47.149.219.---)   7:25am Jan 6 2019

I have long term healing issues also, I had spiral fracture of tib and fib Dec 2017. Lucky to have IM rod. Surgeon was cautious in not letting me get on rod for few months but by 6 months I was walking fine and even playing some Par 3 golf. Not healing has been story month after month so took out top screws in November 2018 and tomorrow I get x ray and will see if this if forcing closure and healing.
I did all the diet stuff and wore a bone growth stimulator for 6 months but I keep hoping for success. Healing can be very slow in all I have read and studied but at what point is it critical. I am happy with the IM rod but surgeon says that won't last forever as screws can work loose and then you have big problems with failed rod.

12/9/17 Broke Tib Fib in fall on front porch
12/10/17 Surgery to install rod with screws
12 days In Hosp. PT OT rehab
02/14/18 X Ray shows little Tib closure, Fib healed. Continue 25% wb
11/9/18 Surgery to remove top 2 screws. No complications afte
