Thanks a lot for your response and experience. In one sense I'm glad to have internal fixation because at least I can walk sooner than with casts, but on the other hand it's so invasive.
I'm hoping I am back to more normal life over the next few months, but I do think it's still gonna take some time. At times this feels a touch overwhelming, but it helps to remember what it was like in the beginning and see how far I've come anyway! That and seeing gains in muscle and fitness- I gained about 3 pounds of muscle in the past month, which I assume is primarily in my atrophied thigh, as I'm not exactly pushing the rest of my body with tough workouts yet.

14 Sept 2018- hit by car, compound open tib/fib fracture, emergency surgery IM nail + 5 screws
19 Sept 2018- released from hospital, NWB
22 Oct 2018- allowed max 30% PWB
04 Dec 2018- working towards 100% WB indoors
18 Feb 2019- First steps!
