 Re: Driving after a cast

Nicky,

Thanks so much for your input!! I think starting slow is going to be the key. I'm even considering "practicing" pushing on the pedals with the car off before I head out on a real roadway. I contacted my insurance company and they approve as long as my doctor says its okay to drive. I'm just a lttle concerned because a month after the cast comes off I am scheduled to leave for vacation. A 24 hour drive with one night stay in between!! I've told my doctor this and asked if I should reschedule but he told me not to worry and I'll be fine... Not so sure about that one!!!! Thankfully I will have my mom to switch off with but she can't drive at night, nor in traffic.
Congrats on all your progress!! I broke my tib/fib and talus. I cant imagine any more time stuck on non weight bearing status. I give you credit!
Thanks again for input, gives me hope that I'll be back to driving relatively soon!

MaKayla
