My advice is to wait until you are confident you have the strength in the leg and are pain free in case you have to do an sudden stop. For me that was at the 3 month mark post ORIF. I was in casts and a boot for about 8 weeks total, then took a month to regain strength and mobility in my ankle. Iím in my 40ís and still had to prove to both my parents that I was ready to drive again.
