 Re: what's typical healing time
Robert Zambenini (47.149.212.---)   1:30pm Apr 23 2019

Healing varies a lot as I am slow healer. I am in 16th month after a tib/fib break with IM nail. Just yesterday the surgeon says he is releasing me as I am nearly healed. (but then he says why don't you stop by in 6 months and get an x ray for my records) Things with very slow first 6 months in spite of bone growth stimulator and bone growth diet and good PT. He wanted take the upper screws up at around 6 months, but I stalled as was walking and had some other commitments. Finally took screws out in 11th month and healing started big time. At a healthy 86 I am pretty much back to normal, walking and golfing. It has made me much more careful in every aspect of my life!

12/9/17 Broke Tib Fib in fall on front porch
12/10/17 Surgery to install rod with screws
12 days In Hosp. PT OT rehab
02/14/18 X Ray shows little Tib closure, Fib healed. Continue 25% wb
11/9/18 Surgery to remove top 2 screws. No complications afte
