Broken rib & fib - pressure when stand up
LH    1:15pm Apr 25 2019

Hi!
I am 8 days out of surgery for a broken tibia & fibula. I slipped on ice in a driveway, heard a loud crack as I was falling down. In surgery they put in 11 screws and 2 plates. I broke my leg on 4/14/19 & had surgery 3 days later. I was able to come off of pain killers after 6 days although I am still taking Tylenol around the clock.

When I get up I often feel a pressure in my leg that comes on. I describe it to people like “it feels like the screws are bursting through my skin” Is this normal? Does anyone else feel something similar?

After almost two weeks of strictly laying down & elevating my leg I can’t wait to be able to go out for more than an hour or eat breakfast at the kitchen table. How long do you usually have to elevate your leg at all times for?
