My ruptured Achilles is obviously quite painful but itís ok with the pain tablets Iím taking that I was handed out at A&E last Tuesday.
Whatís worse than the pain and tenderness in my Achilles is these spasms I get in my calf muscles.
When I ruptured the Achilles on Tuesday I sat in the back of the car on the way to hospital and they started then: my foot was all floppy (late explained by the doctor I saw because the Achilles attaches foot to calf muscle) and my leg started quivering and going into spasms.
The temporary plaster splint Iím in has a space between the different parts of the plaster but when they happen my leg goes tight inside the plaster- although itís in my foot and calf they seem to affect my whole leg, from my thigh where the plaster ends to my toes where it begins.
Is there anything I can do or is it a case of hanging on in until they start to ease on their own?
