Thank you WB. I certainly hope to avoid surgery if possible, as long as everything stays put where its supposed to be. The doctor did have some concern that the grade 2 high-ankle sprain accompanying my ankle and tibia fractures could complicate things a little by adding additional instability. However, they don't think it'll be a big problem due to the ankle fracture being below, and the tibia fracture being above where they deem the sprain to be? At least that's what they told me.
With all that said, I'm not very excited about the prospect of a "long leg cast". Who would be? But if it means no surgery.... I guess I'll have to get used to it. Please tell me it's better than this huge splint though!? This thing sucks!
5/7/19- suffered fractured ankle, grade 2 high ankle sprain, and fractured tibia. Full leg backslab splint.
5/17/19- 1st ortho appt. No surgery, fiberglass LLC NWB
6/1/19- 2nd LLC NWB
6/29/19- LLWC applied minimal WB
