So on March 15, 2019 I broke both my tibia and fibula in my left leg from a fall down the stairs. I underwent surgery on 5/18/2019 to insert an IM Rod with a nail inserted at the knee and ankle to keep it steady. Sadly, this is my SECOND broken leg, on 5/13/2017 I broke my right tibia and fibula from a freak horseback riding fall and had a metal plate and some screws inserted.
Now ironically my old bad leg, is now my good leg. Anyway, I wanted other broken leggers opinion on a trip that was planned before the broken leg occurred. My family was planning on taking a week off at the end of October 2019 to go to Florida (primarily Disney World and Universal). But now Iím not sure if it would be a smart thing to go or if I did decide to go if I would be in pain the entire time from walking in the parks. Right now I am still non weight bearing, but I have a doctors appointment this upcoming Wednesday and hope to get the okay to do full weight bearing. So I wanted to get the opinion of other people who have been through similar surgeries, is 8 months enough time to heal and be able to walk long distances without a lot of pain?
