Went for my second appointment with the ortho yesterday morning. Had to believe it's been 2 weeks already since I was there! That's good news I guess? Anyway, I didn't really have too high of expectations for the "healing " of my fractures yet as I know it's still pretty early on (3 1/2 weeks since breaks). The main thing I wanted to hear was that everything still looked ok. Thankfully, that was the case. She said my fractures are still well aligned and the x-rays looked good. Like I anticipated, no bone growth yet but she says that's normal. I got a new cast, white fiberglass this time, (more on that later) to replace the black one I was in. It is a full leg cast also and I will need to remain NWB for the time being. I should be in this one for about 4 weeks and then another appointment to find out what's next. I thought I'd get to choose the color but didn't? She says "the white is so she can make sure I don't "push it" and try to do too much once my leg starts feeling a lot better". Basically how she put it is this..."if I come back in a couple weeks and this cast is all filthy and trashed, she'll know I've been doing too much" and in her words..."she'll be pissed"!! Has anyone else ever had this??
