Yes, I remember the changes to the diet. I always liked tuna, cheese, peanuts and broccoli, but consumed so much during healing. Just as important as including vitamins and minerals is staying free off foods (caffeine, for example) that can compromise bone growth.
Yes, weight lifting would be a great option. Just make sure that you clear with your dr. And if you decide to workout with the crutches, make sure to inspect them daily, especially the tips and the grips. If they wear out...not something that should happen!
With having the current downtime, have you explored any possible goals or wants you might move toward as your healing advances? Getting back to full recovery was always my main goal, but had to rethink several things and moved to grad school. More school would not have happened were it not for the injury.
