I'm so sorry to hear about your injury.
I started back at work 2 weeks after my injury, which in retrospect was way too soon, but I was extremely concerned about losing my job. I had additional injuries plus the broken leg as well as post traumatic stress from my near death experience... as a result I wasn't doing a great job with my work. A broken limb is a heavy enough load plus all the other fun bits that go along with it, and I think it's important to take as much time as you can to rest, mentally and physically. I worked from home for a long time- I was on crutches for about 6 months so I only went in when absolutely necessary- my job is mainly IT, so it wasn't too difficult. I'd say most office jobs are possible to convert to working from home if you have understanding managers. I was very concerned my managers would not understand, but they have been very accommodating throughout my injury. I hope you can find a solution- I know how stressful this all is.
