 Re: Appointment at fracture clinic this morning: fractures set in long leg cast.

Hi Annette - that sounds absolutely horrific for you to have had to go through months of casts, boots etc and still no healing.
My breaks are to my fibula and the bigger tibia just below the level of the middle of my shin and above my ankle. They hurt like a bugger after they were put into the new cast.
The consultant did tell me today that healing without surgery would take longer and I figured it was pluses and minuses to each:
Surgery does not sound at all pleasant and I want to avoid it all costs;
Counter this argument with being immobilised in a cast thatís from my toes to my hip almost and Iím not at all sure this is going to ever be Ďniceí to be confined in but then thereís no surgery...
Iíve found that since Iíve got back from fracture clinic a while ago that the permutations are running through my head and Iím not sure what I think to be honest.
Iím kind of resigning myself to being laid up with these breaks for the next few months. If Iím healed by Spring Iíll count myself fortunate.
